Beverly, Owner and Music Instructor
Beverly is the dedicated owner and music instructor at Beverly's Music School. She began teaching private music lessons in 2013 in her hometown of New Hartford, CT. Relocating to Bellingham, WA in 2016, she continued to teach music lessons to students of various ages and skill levels. Beverly graduated from Berklee College of Music with the Summa Cum Laude distinction. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition for Film, TV, and Games. With over a decade of teaching experience, she helps guide students toward their musical aspirations. Beyond teaching, Beverly has been involved in musical theater, school bands, and pursued her own projects. At the core of her musical journey is a profound love for songwriting and composition. Beverly enjoys spending time with her husband, fur babies, and taking in the stunning landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
Phil, Music Instructor
Meet Phil, a passionate private music instructor with a strong foundation in music education. Growing up as the son of a piano teacher and a music professor, his musical journey began at a young age. With a lifelong love for music, he is skilled in both keyboard and guitar. Phil participated in various bands and choirs throughout his musical journey. He brings over a year of teaching experience and more than a decade of formal training to his students, combining his technical expertise with a solid understanding of musical theory. Since relocating from the DC metro area in 2006, he has proudly called Bellingham his home with his wife and two young daughters. He is dedicated to sharing his musical knowledge and fostering a new generation of talented musicians.
Laya Hall, Music Instructor
Laya Hall is currently pursuing a dual Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and Communication Disorders, with a specialization in Vocal Rehabilitation at Western Washington University. Laya has been involved in choir throughout her education, from elementary school to college, and has received many years of vocal and piano instruction. She has experience teaching both piano and voice.
Her passion for music extends beyond the classroom to the stage, where she has been actively involved in community theater. One of her recent performances was a lead role in Mean Girls in Bellingham, highlighting her love for performing arts. Laya's lifelong connection to music, both in performance and education, makes her excited to share her knowledge and passion with her students.
